Who's It For?

The 2026 Kia EV9 is a spectacular choice for families with its three rows of seating, but it also comes with options like all-wheel drive and impressive towing capabilities, which make the vehicle a valuable addition to any adventurer's garage. The 2026 model even features a powerful GT model, which packs additional horsepower and an adaptive suspension, for drivers who want to push their vehicle into the fun zone on every drive.

What's New for 2026?

The EV9 is a relatively new vehicle in the Kia lineup, but Kia has made a few important updates to the vehicle for the 2026 model year. One of the most notable is the switch to the NACS (North American Charging Standard) charging port, which all EV manufacturers are adopting over the next few years. The vehicle will also come with a CCS port adapter, however, so current EV drivers can keep charging at their preferred stations even when they upgrade to the EV9. Kia has also added a high-level GT trim with upgrades like better brakes and an adaptive suspension.

Real World Performance

The 2026 Kia EV9 features a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) on all trim levels, as well as a single-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle's horsepower ranges from 201 horsepower on the base model Light Long Range RWD and increases to 379 on the higher trims. The vehicle is available with a rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive option with torque ranging from 258 lb.-ft on the base model to 516 lb.-ft on the top GT-Line trim.

Battery capacity starts at 76.1 kWh for an estimated 230 miles of range and increases to 99.8 kWh with an estimated 270 or 280 miles of range, depending on the trim level. The long-range model boasts an estimated range of 304 miles. Cargo volume is a spacious 20.2 cubic feet, and towing capacity reaches up to 5,000 pounds with some trim levels and trailer brakes.
